Relationships and Responsibility
Sierra Ridge Academy involves the community as much as possible to develop our students’ values of relationship building, community building and responsibility. During the past five years, students volunteered over 25,000 hours to community organizations and faith-based groups that were selected to allow students to work hand-in-hand with other volunteers, while developing respect, empathy and compassion.
These organizations include: Mark Twain Convalescent Hospital, Food Pantries (San Andreas and Copperopolis), Angel’s Camp Rotary Club, Spence’s Feed Store, San Andreas Medical Clinic and the Calaveras County Probation Department.
Community Advisory Board
The mission of Sierra Ridge Academy’s Community Advisory Board (CAB) is to enhance the success of SRA’s youth through the development of organizational relationships, establishment of mutually beneficial business partnerships and increased community awareness.
Members of the CAB provide their professional expertise; their diverse knowledge and perspectives; their connections to local, national and international resources, colleagues and peers; their philanthropic support and their time and energy to support the mission and vision of Sierra Ridge Academy.
Members include: Jennifer DaCosta, Jen Jones and Belva Bristol.
Sierra Ridge Academy School Board
Dr. Sutton is a graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno and of the Optometry School at Pacific University, Forest Grove, Oregon. He is a licensed Optometrist who has practiced in Reno since 1978. Dr. Sutton is widely known for his news reporting on Northern Nevada’s largest news program.

A former Rite of Passage student, Mr. Graham earned a Master’s Degree from Tennessee State University and holds the position of Executive Director with the Boys and Girls Club. Mr. Graham also earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Science and is a Passageway Scholarship Foundation Board Member.
Vicki Sauer-Lamb is the Chief Deputy Juvenile Probation Officer of Douglas County, Nevada, a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor Officer and Certified Juvenile Court Administrator. She holds Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from the University of Nevada, Reno in Justice Management and Criminal Justice. Ms. Sauer-Lamb also is a member of the Northern Nevada Juvenile Sex Offender Task Force.
Dr. Jeremy Estrada is a former student of Rite of Passage. After graduating from ROP, Jeremy attended Jeremy attended college and continued his education at Georgetown University School of Medicine.. Today, he is concluding his Medical Fellowship at the University of Chicago School of Medicine, practicing cardiovascular disease treatment to underserved populations.

Mr. Westwater has 38 years of diverse clinical and management experience, and is a retired Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Nevada and California. He also served as a juvenile probation officer and held the position of Director of Psychiatric Emergency Services for the University of California, Davis Medical Center.
Mr. Serrano was the former Deputy Administrator for the Nevada State Division of Child and Family Services, Commissioner for the Nevada Interstate Compact for the Placement of Children, served on the Nevada Supreme Court Commission for Juvenile Justice and was a former Chief Juvenile Probation Officer.

Mr. Adler has severed on the Nevada State Senate and in the Nevada Assembly for over a decade. Additionally, he was the Chief Crimes Deputy in the Office of the Attorney General, Director of the Clark County Senior Citizens Law Project and the Editor-in-Chief of /The Woolsack/, a publication of the University of San Diego Whitman School of Law, where Mr. Adler received his J.D.
